18 Months Old!

I can't believe Luke is already 18 months old!! My little baby boy is no longer a baby! He is growing up so fast. He has a huge vocabulary now, he can repeat almost everything we say, and knows exactly what I am saying to him when talking. He is so smart!

Luke loves to read, he looks at books all day, and I love when he brings me over a book and plops himself down in my lap to read to him, although he won't sit long enough to finish a book or even let me finish a page before he turns the page, but I still love to read to him.

To say this boy LOVES trucks is an understatement. He plays with trucks all day long, talks about trucks when he is not playing with trucks and when we are driving down the street he gets super excited when he sees trucks! Now when he hears an ambulance or fire truck in the distance when we are playing outside he stops and cups his hand around his ear and says "Amey!!" (which is his word for ambulance.)

We started a mom and tots gym class at the park district, and the first couple classes were CRAZY! Luke was not getting the listening part of class, but to my amazement, now that we are at the end of the class, Luke is learning to follow the teachers directions! YAY! When Miss Alison tells the kids to come and find a circle to sit on Luke runs over and finds one and sits down, and also follows directions when the teacher shows him how to use the equiptment. (Not always, but at least he is trying now!)...WOAH...That is a huge improvement from the last month! Doesn't mean he listens to mommy though, we are working on that one. And getting a vghis new temper tantrums

I am so proud of Luke and we love to watch him grow and his silly little personality shine through! He reminds me a lot of his daddy, and my dad. They both are always being silly, and since Jared and my dad are Luke's favorite people in the whole world, I am not surprised that he has a silly personality just like them.

Playing in the SNOW!!

Today was our first real official snow of the season, which is weird being it's January 12th! I took Luke out for a little bit and pulled him around on a sled, he was not really diggin' it. But did love to watch me shovel and wanted to help!

This was the face he had on the whole time I was pulling his around on the sled. Not impressed.

But he WAS impressed by the shovel! :)

Christmas Day 2011

Luke and I went to visit daddy in the morning at work on Christmas. And Luke ran circles in the bay area at the fire station from truck to truck "ooohhing and ahhhing" It is an understatement to say he LOVES trucks. He is in Heaven looking at the trucks and playing on them with daddy. He is such a lucky boy to have such a cool daddy :)

After the stop at the fire station we went with my parents and brother and his partner Mikey to my Aunt and Uncles house to have Christmas with some of my mom's side of the family. It was great to see everyone and Luke got to play with his buddy Ben. My cousins son who is a month younger than Luke, so they are so fun to watch "playing" with each other....or maybe just taking each others toys :)

The box was way cooler than any present they opened.  :)

Christmas Eve

As I said in an earlier post, Jared had to work Christmas day so we split Christmas Eve between our families and went to my parents house in the morning for brunch and opened presents, then while Luke napped, we played The Game of Life, which I haven't played since I was a kid! We had so much fun ganging up on my husband...he was getting cocky :) BUT then I WON!!

Reading books with Grammy and Grampy (my parents)

Luke's new chair! He loves this thing!

King of the mountain!

After that we went to Jared's parents house and had dinner with his parents, his sister Kathryn and her boyfriend Nick. We had a great time, but were missing some of the family. We opened gifts after eating some yummy cheesecake.

Our family Christmas

So since Jared is a firefighter, he doesn't have a normal schedule like most people and doesn't get Christmas off. It just depends how his shift falls, and this year we got very unlucky with almost every holiday but Thanksgiving Jared has been working. So we made the most of it and had our own Christmas on Wednesday 12/21. I made homemade cinnamon rolls and a sausage and egg casserole the night before so in the morning when I woke up I threw them into the oven and then we had a fabulous breakfast together!

Then after we ate we watched Luke open his presents. Jared and I decided not to get each other presents this year. It always seems to silly to buy each other gifts with our money. So we just got Luke and the dogs gifts. It was so fun to watch Luke open presents, last year he slept through us opening his presents for him. This year he tore the paper off by himself and was so excited about each gift!

YES! Cars!

And trucks!!

AND a Bat Mobile (can you tell this boy LOVES trucks!)

This is a soccer net and soccer ball, I am convinced he will be our little soccer player. He has been a kicker since he was in my belly. And when he was newborn he was always kick kick kickin!

Our little chef, now has his own kitchen!

After Luke's nap and lunch we made some sugar cookies together. Well...I made them mostly and Luke and daddy just punched out a couple cookies, along with eating some cookie dough.

Taste testing. :)

After this we dropped Luke off where he napped again at Grammy and Grampy's and we went to my dr's appt and got to hear the baby's heartbeat and find out that I passed the glucose tolerance test...BUT as great as that sounds, I have to take it again at the normal time 28ish weeks. Let's hope I pass it then too!!

Then Jared and I went out for a date to Cheesecake Factory and went to church together to Willowcreek's Christmas program. It was a beautiful service, as always.

It was a perfect day. Merry Christmas!!!!

15 MONTHS OLD!

Luke is 15 months old now! I can't believe how fast this last 15 months has flown by! He is getting SO big. We went to the doctor this week and he weighed in at 23lbs 1oz and was 31 inches long!

Luke is doing so much now, everyday it seems like he learns something new. He says a bunch of words now, his favorite though is "GO" is runs around saying "GO GO GO GO!" Jared and I started saying "GO GO GADGET" and sure enough...now this kid runs around saying "GO GO GADGET!" (the gadget part isn't that clear, but it is so funny how fast they pick things up! I guess I better start watching what I say!

We have just started a few days ago trying to teach Luke some sign language and he has already signed "more" and "milk" after just introducing it! It really amazes me how smart he is!

Luke LOVES trucks! He has a bunch of trucks and when we are driving down the road he gets so excited when he sees trucks! He says "K K K" He doesn't say the whole word, but makes the K sound and points. It is so funny how excited he gets!

Luke is a daddy's boy, no doubt about it. He adores his daddy and his grampy (my dad). He gets SO excited when either of them walk into a room! He can't contain his excitement, he starts throwing things and knocking things off tables. He turns into the Hulk when he sees them!

Luke has a TON of teeth now! He has about 11 or 12, that have popped through. 5 of those were in the last couple weeks. He is really good about teething, I had NO clue he even had teeth coming through till I stuck my finger in there.

There are so many other things Luke is doing, I could go on all day, but don't worry, I won't! :)

The first snow this year!

Not sure what goes on when I'm not home! I was out this night and when I went to upload pictures a few days later I found a bunch of pictures with Luke and his daddy with diapers on their heads?? Strange, silly boys.

Love this kid!

This face was too funny not to post! hehe

BABY SKIBBENS #2!!

We found out the day before Luke's 1st birthday, so on Sept 8th, that we were expecting baby #2! We were so excited and couldn't wait to spread the news, we told close family and friends, but waited till I was about 11 weeks to announce to everyone else. I tried to wait till the 2nd trimester, but I am an impatient person!
This was my first belly picture on Thanksgiving day :)

I was VERY impatient to find out what the sex of the baby was, so  me, Jared, Luke,  my mom, dad, and brother all piled in the car and went to a place where you can pay to have an ultrasound early to find out the sex of the baby! We had a 2D and 3D ultrasound and it was actually really inexpensive! It only cost $40! Anyways...the baby was a little shy at first and trying to hide all scrunched up, but after poking and proding we found out Luke will have a baby BROTHER!!!

2 BOYS! I am in for a crazy testosterone filled home!! :) The only girls in the house are me and my boston terrier now. We are out numbered!
