BYE BYE PACI PARTY!!

So today was a BIG day in the Skibbens' house! Luke said bye bye to his paci's and through them in the garbage, we told him the paci fairy was going to come and give them to little babies that needed them, and since he was a big boy now, he doesn't need them anymore! We celebrated with pizza and cupcakes with Grammy and Grampy! It was so cute! We were cheering him on and clapping when he threw them out, he was so excited! It was hilarious. Jared put him to bed and he asked a few times for it, but Jared explained that we gave them up tonight for the babies and he didn't ask anymore and went to bed. So for the first night, things went well...let's HOPE it continues that way!

Cupcakes!!

Putting the paci's in the garbage :)

He was so happy...it was so funny!!

Giving Grammy knuckles! He was running around giving us high 5's and knuckles. Such a nut!

I love this picture of Luke reading with daddy! He loves this book! I love that he can tell you what's going to happen through parts of his favorite books now. Such a cutie patootie!

  1. this is hilarious! I know someone who sent their daughter's pacifier away in balloons. Unfortunately, the balloons got struck in the tree right outside of her bedroom window. So she could see them when she went to bed at night - hilarious! Glad your sending away was more successful.

  2. Oh my goodness! That would stink! I am glad our paci party was pretty successful, only problem we've been having since is he gets out of his bed often and thinks its play time. He didn't do this until we took the paci, but I think it was the right time to give it up. Hopefully night after night of going in there he will get that he needs to stay in bed.

  3. My son held on to his binky like it was a lifeline! We actually started out by only giving it to him during naps and when he was real fussy, but as time went on, he seemed to want it more (it went from a suckle need, to a want). My mom found the bye bye pacifier method, www.bye-bye-pacifier.com, printed it and suggested that we go with it. At first I was a bit mad at my mom, but I soon got over it. The method worked amazingly well. My son stopped sucking on it after 4 days! He proceeded to carry it around for another week, but never put it in his mouth. He then got tired of carrying it and simply lost interest. Mom was right, it worked, highly recommended!
