Noah-7 months old!

How has 7 months gone so quickly?! I can't say enough how much of a joy this little man is in our lives! I can't imagine what our family would be with out him! He is my sweet, sweet, happy boy! Always smiling and laughing, especially at his big brother! He babbles and screams and squeals all day long, he says dada all the time, but I'm pretty sure he is just babbling, I'm sure Jared would say differently, and I guess we will let him think that! :) Noah is now sitting up on his own, and can almost get himself into the sitting position on his own. He is army crawling/scooching all over the place, and gets up on all 4's rocking back and forth, but hasn't quite figured out how to get himself forward, other than just lunging forward. He now eats cereal and veggies/fruits 3 times a day. So far he has tried rice and oatmeal cereal, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, apples, carrots and I made pears, but he will probably get those tomorrow. I just can't believe how fast he is growing!

We had to take Noah for his first ER visit about a month ago. He scared the crap out of us. One morning I went into his room to check on him when we woke up because Luke wanted to, and when I walked into the room I found Noah in his crib white as a ghost, with blue lips, with shallow breathing, and when I picked him up he had no muscle tone and was like a limp noodle. Jared took him immediately to the ER and as soon as they got there his color came back and he was back to his normal happy self. They admitted him and ran a bunch of tests because they thought maybe it was a seizure, they ruled that and pretty much everything else out. The really only explanation they could come up with, was their best guess, that maybe because of his acid re-flux he had been choking on his spit up. So basically we didn't really get any answers other than to keep him on his acid re-flux medication and just monitor him. He has been completely fine since, but of course mommy has been paranoid about everything. But it made me realize even more than I already knew, that this little boys life is so precious, and my life would not be complete with out him in it.

BIG HAPPY BOY!!

This is me trying to get a picture of them together, Luke wrestled him to the ground, and Noah loves every minute of the attention from Luke! Crazy boys!

Trying to crawl to Toby, he loves his doggies!

You can barely see his tiny little tooth on the bottom

Date night with my LUKE!!

I got a chance to take Luke out on a special date to Chil-fil-a! I love that place! They had a special night for mothers and sons. It had a Mid-evil Knights theme. It was such a blast! There was tablecloths and centerpieces on the tables that were set aside for our reservations. The cow was dressed as a Knight and was walking around the store, Luke LOVED the cow! He kept running up and dancing for him and making silly faces at him! They had a photo booth set up where Luke and I got our picture taken together, they also had someone there drawing characatures of the boys. One of Luke's favorite parts was the jester and the fool walking around having sword fights. I really had a great time with Luke, I love watching his face light up when he is happy. My favorite part was when he kept turning to me and putting his arms around my neck and giving me a giant hug and a kiss for no reason. My heart melts.<3 I adore that sweet boy!

Eating his chicken nuggets. Such a special little boy there, that one day is going to do great things!!

Luke and the cow.

Making silly faces at the cow! Haha! He cracks me up!

Silly pictures with mommy. I seriously can't wait for our next date. This boy is so precious to me!

Noah-6 months old!

Where has this last 6 months gone? Did I not just have this baby boy yesterday? How is he already 6 months old?

Noah is still my little bundle of joy. He is my laid back, sweet lovey boy. I hope he stays that way, BUT, as he is a boy, I am not holding my breath.

Noah is starting to be able to sit on his own, not for long, but stays longer every day! He is getting stronger, and cuter every day!

At his appt yesterday, Noah weighed 15 lbs 10 oz and was 27 inches long.

Sweet 6 month old boy :)

Such a happy little Mr.

LOVES hanging out with his big brother, Luke.

Even when Luke is trying to wrestle with him. Boys....

Reading a book together.

And...Luke tries to wrestle with him again. Little nuts.

VeggieTales LIVE!

We took the boys to Veggie Tales LIVE last night at a church in Elmhurst and Luke had a blast! He loved that he got to get up and dance. He was jumping and dancing around and trying to catch the bubbles from the bubble machine. So glad we were able to take them. Even Noah enjoyed watching all the lights and characters dancing around on the stage!

Waiting patiently for the show to start!

Luke didn't want Noah sitting near him...what a stinker.

Silly little baby!

Dancing in the aisle! :)

We are the Pirates, who don't do anything! We just stay home and lay around!

Halloween 2012

This year for Halloween we went to a friends church for their trunk or treat, since we were unable to go to our own. Luke was Batman and Noah was Robin, although, it was SO cold out that Noah was all bundled up in the stroller anyway, so you couldn't even see his costume. But, that's ok. I saw it and took some pictures, and that's all that matters!
Luke, Noah and daddy. My 3 favorite guys!

Luke and his girly friend, Trinity. They are 3 days apart! It's so fun watching them grow together! (she has a major obsession with Luke, she calls him on FaceTime and sends him videos, it's so sweet)

Luke said this was his bat signal, I guess he really is listening when daddy talks about Batman and reads him batman books! :)

CANDY!!

He was in love with this car that decorated their trunk as Veggie Tales!

Then on the actual day of Halloween, we went trick or treating in our neighborhood with another one of Luke's girly friends, Gianna! Such a lucky little boy to have so many cute little girls to play with!

Luke and Gianna

Daddy and Luke getting the pumpkins ready to carve!

Our pumpkins! Daddys (captain hook), mommy's (tinker bell), Luke's (Batman) and Noah's (mickey mouse) I carved the 3 on the right. Jared gave up on his and didn't finish, he had to go to work, so his never got finished. But still looked pretty good for not being done.

A few days earlier, Luke painted a pumpkin and had so much fun doing it! He is my little artist!

BYE BYE PACI PARTY!!

So today was a BIG day in the Skibbens' house! Luke said bye bye to his paci's and through them in the garbage, we told him the paci fairy was going to come and give them to little babies that needed them, and since he was a big boy now, he doesn't need them anymore! We celebrated with pizza and cupcakes with Grammy and Grampy! It was so cute! We were cheering him on and clapping when he threw them out, he was so excited! It was hilarious. Jared put him to bed and he asked a few times for it, but Jared explained that we gave them up tonight for the babies and he didn't ask anymore and went to bed. So for the first night, things went well...let's HOPE it continues that way!

Cupcakes!!

Putting the paci's in the garbage :)

He was so happy...it was so funny!!

Giving Grammy knuckles! He was running around giving us high 5's and knuckles. Such a nut!

I love this picture of Luke reading with daddy! He loves this book! I love that he can tell you what's going to happen through parts of his favorite books now. Such a cutie patootie!

Time for cereal!

Today I tried rice cereal with Noah for the first time. He wasn't too sure about it. He kept looking at me like,  lady, what are you putting in my mouth! Love this boy! We will have to try again! I started making and freezing some food for him, I can't wait to try those. But for now...we will stick with boring old rice cereal and breast milk! :)

NOAH-5 Months old

I can't believe Noah is 5 months old! Well, he was 5 months on 10/4/12, I'm posting a little late. He is my little happy pants! He has decided for the last month or so that he wants to wake up all night long! Yuck, where did my great sleeper go? I have to remind myself that this too shall pass ALL night long!
He rolls all over, but has been doing that for a while now. He loves to sit up (with my help or the Bumbo) and see everything!
And he loves his jumpers, and of course adores his big brother! I can tell he already looks up to his big brother. he watches everything he does, and is always smiling and laughing at everything everything he does. I love watching my boys growing up!

Luke is TWO!!!

How is it possible that this sweet boy is 2!! He is growing up SO fast!! There isn't a day that goes by that he doesn't make me laugh and want to pull my hair out at the same time! Yep...he definitely is 2! :)
Luke is a talker. All day long he talks. I love how much he can talk now. He is my little sponge! He knows a good chunk of his letters and some numbers. He loves to sing songs and watch ANYTHING on TV. We try to limit how much TV he watches. He loves to play with his Cars, and Toy Story characters, his bat mobiles, and tools. And any chance he can get he tries to steal my iPhone or iPad and plays his games or watches his shows on netflix on there. He is addicted to them already.
Luke had a Cars themed birthday party and had a blast! We had friends from out of town, which made it extra special! Here is the cake we made.

Here is Luke on his actual birthday! Lucky boy had 2 celebrations this year! He is just THAT special :)
Luke has definitely warmed up to his brother. Most mornings he goes with me into Noah's room to get him up. He loves to climb up and look over and smile at Noah and say "Hi Noah!" or "Good morning Noah" He shares his toys with him and every now and then through out the day will just walk by him to say hi and every great once and a while will give him hugs and kisses with out me asking him to! :) It melts my heart!

About a month ago we moved Luke into his big boy bed! He does AWESOME!! I was SO nervous for this transition! But he was so ready. He looked at us like we were crazy the first night, but went right to sleep and has done so every night since, and for his nap everyday he sleeps most days 3+ hours in there. And when he wakes up before us, he just hangs out in his bed. He knows that mommy won't let him have his paci outside his bed, so he is content to stay there just so he can have it! I love that I can crawl into bed with him at night and read him stories and pray and talk about our day. It is one of my favorite things to do now!
