HALF MARATHON

So I am pretty excited that I signed up for my first half marathon, 13.1 miles, in May! I am running it with a friend I met in a small group I was in last spring. I can't wait! I am obviously nervous, the furthest I have ever ran was 10 miles, but lately I have only been running 3-5 miles, since Luke was born. I just started back at running this new year, so we will see how it goes! I am praying for healthy knees and shins, somehow I always injure one of those!

Wish me luck!! =)

5 months old!!

So Luke is 5 months old now! Some of the new things he is doing now is eating big boy food! He LOVES his cereal and bananas. We also tried sweet potatoes and he LOVES those! I am making his food, which is really fun actually, and pretty easy. We tried avocados and he was not really a fan, we will have to try that again soon.

He is rolling all over the place, doesn't fully roll from back to belly, but almost. He has been talking ALL the time, he puts syllables together now like baba, and mama, and dada. His little voice is so sweet! He is obviously teething and has been for a couple months, but his fingers are ALWAYS in his mouth. He smiles all the time, and has the sweetest laugh. He almost sits up on his own, he will for a couple seconds, then topples over. He is such a sweet baby, he likes to play on his jumpy entertainer thing, sit up or stand up (with someones help) but he is so strong. He also grabs his little tootsies now and tries to stick those in his mouth! I just love this little boy, he has made us so happy. I look back and think "what did I do for the last 26 years of my life with our him!" I just can't imagine now that he is here, not spending my days taking care of him.

we stopped by the doctors office today to say hi and weighed Luke just to see where he is at, he weighed just under 16 lbs and was 26 1/2 inches long! He is growing so fast!

Eating bananas and cereal

So a couple weeks ago we started Luke on plain rice cereal, and then started trying oatmeal cereal. So yesterday we decided to mix a little mashed up bananas in the cereal. He was a little unsure about it at first, but later started to enjoy it and he really liked it today when I gave it to him.

I LOVE this face. He is such a nut. So dramatic.

BLIZZARD 2011!!!!!

So we had this CRAZY blizzard starting tues night (2/1/11) and it went till the afternoon of wed (2/2/11) They were talking about it since saturday and you know, I NEVER believe the weathermen...but this time they were RIGHT ON! I think we got about 25 inches of snow! With the drifts, some places it was more!

Luke and I stayed at my parents Tuesday night and just came home today, Thursday. Jared was working Tuesday night till tomorrow morning (Friday). Everyone else had off work, but since my husband has one of those jobs that you can't just close down for the day, he still had to work. I didn't want to get snowed in by ourselves, so that's why we went to my parents. When we woke up Wednesday it was a winter wonderland outside! Just freakin beautiful!! I am NOT a fan of winter, but the snow looked amazing!

Here are a few pictures of my parents house, tomorrow I will have to take a few of our house.

My parents backyard, some of the drifts had to be about 4 ft or more tall! CRAZY!

I ran out to the front of the house around 7 am while it was still coming down. So pretty.

The street

My dad trying to get to the garage to get the snow blower out!

After he snow blowed a path...my dad is over 6 ft tall, so you can see how crazy high the snow was!

Me and the Lukeman in his 1st blizzard!

We were out for less than 5 minutes, I just had to get a few pics since this was the 3rd biggest blizzard in recorded history of Chicago!

As you can see he was so excited to be outside. Mommy was sick, so she wanted to get back in too!
